Darío Podestá
Nature & Wildlife Photographer

Photographer and Biologist Darío Podestá lives full-time on his passion for nature.
He has traveled through most of Argentina, Antarctica, the Malvinas Islands and several other places in South America in search of the beauty of nature and the animals that inhabit it. Sharing his artistic eye through exhibitions and numerous publications.
He is the president of AFONA (Argentine Association of Nature Photographers) and is part of several environmental conservation projects, transmitting his passion through classes, workshops and public talks. In this way he develops photography, not only as a passion, but also as a means to create awareness in the conservation of our natural heritage.
He has received numerous National and International Awards, including the “Wildlife Photographer of the Year” (2015, 2016, 2018 – Natural History Museum, UK), and in the following competitions: “Asferico Nature Photography” (2018 – Italy), “MontPhoto” (2018 – Spain), “BioPhoto” (2019, 2020 – Italy), and “Golden Turtle” (2019 – Russia).
He is currently working at the Patagonian National Center in Puerto Madryn (Chubut), providing photographic documentation for the CONICET.
